CITY CENTRE PHASE 2, SOON BY BENGAL SHRISTI
Bengal Shristi will soon commence working on their City Centre Phase 2 project.Due to the positive report of their previous projects this decision has been taken.There are many BPO, KPO, disaster management centres and back offices that are coming to Durgapur so the projects with good infrastructure need a quick start.

Good. It is good to know that BPO industry is coming to DGP. BTW, do you have any update on SP Infocity Project and IQ City project? Has any progress been made?
The SP Infocity is yet to start,the site has been barricaded but construction is not starting,I heard that there is a problem going on with the legal structure of the land and the investment scenario which is bleak from the view point of Cognizant which was supposed to have a huge centre in SP Infocity
About IQ CITY ,the hospital is scheduled to open this year or early next year,the project has been curtailed to only 100 acres from 600 acres, the housing and the malls plus colleges are yet to get the final nod

hi rajarshi right now u can purchase houser or land at Palashdiha, Faridpur or Waria, depend upon availability.
The Hinduja Group company started its BPO operations in the steel city in West Bengal in June last year.Can you give any update on other BPOs or KPOs coming up or started bussiness in Durgapur?
Dear Shirshendu.Include the existing railway situation at Durgapur in your Blog.It is still poor if compared to that of other industrial cities of India.Many long distance trains do not stop here although these trains stop at much smaller stations.Commitments made by former Chairman of the Railway Standing Committee of the Parliament have not been kept.Now there is new Railway Minister from Bengal.Can she be properly informed about the real requirements of Durgapur Railway station. Sovan Roy.
Good to know about the developments sheduled to take place but why is the railway station being so neglected? any news about it?

I am basically from durgapur and completed my academics from durgapur itself. I also have started my career in durgapur and is still continuing. It has been 5 years now. And I have a special crush for the city. I dont want to go anywhere else. I was extremely excited to know that Hinduja Group was opening its centte here. Back in 2007 when hinduja group opened there were 3 BPOs in Durgapur. And it was growing at a fast pace. News were there that companinies like Cognizant, Wipro, Aegis etc all are interested to open their BPOs here. It was also heard thatHinduja was planning to open its 2nd centre in City Centre. But suddenly all things stopped. The call centres of Aircel and Reliance were taken away to some other place. I dont know what happened!!! Now my concern is why arent companies coming to durgapur knowing that this city has all the potential and requirements they want. As for example, there are huge amounts of land and building for a very low cost, ample amount of quality manpower,etc. And compared to Kolkata this city is very cheap in all aspects.
Does anyone has any updates regarding new companies coming to durgapur???
